John & Jim headed out on this hot humid day. The air was still as would be expected on a day like this. There was a little breeze from the south when they set the course.
For the first race we decided to run a SACAF figuring we had all night. John got a jump on the start and Jim chased him for the first lap and a half. At the second rounding of A, John had inside overlap on Jim going into A and while John was pinching to make the mark ended up tacking and hit Jim. John got down to just about the line and did a penalty turn just in case to win race 1.
After experiencing the slow pain during race 1, the guys decided on a SAF for race 2. Jim got a slight edge on the start but was on the outside of the course and John was able to get out front after a couple of tacks. About half way up to A, Jim caught a nice breeze and walked right around John on the leeward side. Jim keep on cruising (as much cruising the wind would allow) all the way to the finish.
Results are:
Jim; 2,1=3
John; 1,2=3
